• For a great, free UNIX operating system on your Intel (or Cyrix or AMD) based computer, try FreeBSD.  You can download it for free, or buy a CDROM at Walnut Creek CDROM, or at CheapBytes.
• Another free UNIX operating system is Linux.  This is highly thought of, but I have no experience with it myself. There is a Missouri Linux Users Group devoted to this operating system.
• For a not quite so nice, and not free operating system on your Intel (or Cyrix or AMD) based computer, try the WINDOWS family by Microsoft.
