MATHEMATICS COUNTS
2005 Summer Program

August 1-5, August 8-12

Eligibility: Students should be enrolled in 6^th or 7^th grade during the academic year 2004-2005 and have the recommendation of their mathematics teacher.

Cost: $60 per week for each student.

Selection: Participants will be selected in the order in which completed applications are received.

Description: This program is designed to provide participants with a variety of mathematical experiences to extend their understanding and knowledge in mathematics. During each week a different topic will be introduced and discussed with emphasis on problem solving. The schedule of topics covered is as follows:

Grade 6
August 1-5, 1:00-4:00 p.m., Using the Integers
August 8-12, 1:00-4:00 p.m., Learning to Count

Grade 7
August 1-5, 9:00 a.m.-12 noon, Learning to Count
August 8-12, 9:00 a.m.-12 noon, Statistics and Probability

Withdrawal and Refund Policy: The enrollment fee, except for a $10 processing fee, will be refunded for withdrawals made prior to July 15, 2005.

Cancellation: The $60 fee will be returned if a session is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
