MATHEMATICS COUNTS
2007 Summer Program

June 11-15, 2007

Eligibility: Students should be enrolled in 5th, 6th or 7th grade during the academic year 2006-2007 and have the recommendation of their mathematics teacher.

Cost: This year, the program is being co-sponsored by University of Missouri and Baylor University, so the admission cost will be waived.

Selection: Participants will be selected in the order in which completed applications are received.

Description: This program is designed to provide participants with a variety of mathematical experiences to extend their understanding and knowledge in mathematics. Emphasis will be placed on problem solving. Participants can pick to attend one of two sessions:

Morning
9 a.m.-noon
Afternoon
1 p.m.-4 p.m.

Because of the sponsorship of Baylor and the University of Missouri, each participant will be asked to complete a short math assessment and, upon completion, will receive a $20 gift certificate to a local cinema. In addition, one sibling of each Mathematics Counts participant will also be eligible to complete the short math assessment and receive an additional $20 gift certificate to a local cinema.
