The Department of Mathematics at the University of Missouri-Columbia invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the specialty of Algebra/Algebraic Geometry to begin September 1, 2010. Candidates must present evidence of excellence in teaching and research and must have an earned Ph.D. or equivalent in Mathematics by August 31, 2010. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct independent research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, obtain external funding, and supervise graduate student research. Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and statements of teaching and research interests. In addition arrangements should be made for four letters of recommendation to be submitted to the department, one of which must specifically address teaching.
