DEPARTMENT POLICIES
FOR MATH COURSES

  1. Skip Math 1100 or 1120 with ACT math score of 26, or with MMPT of 26, or with SAT math score of 600. [Note that 26 on ACT math score allows students to skip 1100, but they do not get credit based on an ACT or SAT score.]
  2. Credit for Math 1100 or 1120 if MMPT is at least 26.
  3. Math 0110 carries 3 units of credit, but these units do not count toward any baccalaureate degree.
  4. Math 1360 is an MRP course for elementary education majors.
  5. A minimum of "C-" in Math 1100 or Math 1120 when it is a prerequisite.
  6. At most 5 units of credit may be earned in 1100, 1120, 1121*, 1140, 1160, 1180.
  7. Students with one calculus course (C range grade) satisfy the MRP requirement.
  8. Math 1100 is for calculus (e.g., 1320 [61] or 1400 [108] ) bound students. Math 1120 is for others (these are equally hard courses.)
  9. Math 1160 and 1180 are for students headed for Math 1500.
  10. Math Department MRP courses = 1300, 1320, 1360, 1400, 1500
  11. Credit for 1360 with score of 19 on the geometry test given at testing services.
  12. Students do not get credit for Math 1100 by taking Math 1300.

*Math 1121 is subject to approval on the campus level.
