Boundary Triplets, Weyl functions, and Boundary Value Problems
Abstract: We introduce the concept of a boundary triplet and the
corresponding Weyl function. We show that a set of all self-adjoint
extensions is parametrized by a set of "boundary operators" (in fact,
by a set of "linear boundary relations"). We investigate spectral
properties of self-adjoint extensions in terms of boundary operators
(i.e., "abstract boundary conditions") and the corresponding Weyl
functions. The general theory will be illustrated on boundary value
problems for ordinary and partial differential operators.
