Geometric methods for a Free Boundary problem for Harmonic Measure

Free boundary problems for harmonic measure are an area of intense interest and are often studied using tools from harmonic analysis and geometric measure theory. We will combine these tools with ideas from the calculus of variations and minimal surfaces to study a two-phase free boundary problem for harmonic measure. If time allows we will "reverse the flow" and explain how free boundary problems can inform the study of minimal surfaces. Some of what we will talk about is joint work with Matthew Badger (U Conn) and Tatiana Toro (U Washington, Seattle).
