Abstract: Classical algebraic geometry is the study of zeroes of multivariable polynomials and their geometric structure. More modern approaches are more concerned with the prime ideals in a ring. In this talk, I'll be presenting both views along with a wealth of examples to try and understand this incredibly rich subject. Prerequisites are four years of algebraic geometry classes, or best offer.
