Abstract: Ignore the stuffy title—it's a talk involving a TON of pictures. There are dots and lines and grids and maybe a triangulated torus, whatever that is. 'Introduction' is not used cavalierly, and the prerequisites for the talk are nothing more than basic linear algebra. But by the end you'll have seen some of the major ideas of persistent homology, an important field of study in nearly every kind of data analysis.
