Howe duality conjecture

The Weil representation is used to construct irreducible representations of one group H from representations of another G when the pair (G, H) is a reductive dual pair. The Howe duality conjecture says that this construction is essentially bijective. In this talk, I will explain the Howe duality conjecture and some recent development.
