Plancherel measures for coverings of p-adic SL(2,F)

Plancherel measures associated with parabolic induction on reductive groups determine the reducibility points along the unitary axis. Exploiting the uniqueness of Whittaker model, one computes these measures using the Langlands-Shahidi method whenever the inducing representation is generic. In this talk we shall present a recent computation of these measures for non-algebraic coverings of p-adic SL(2,F). Our method utilizes a higher dimensional metaplectic analog of the Shahidi local coefficients defined in a context where uniqueness of Whittaker model fails. This is a joint work with David Goldberg
