Stability of some stellar models

Abstract: I will discuss some results on stability of non-rotating and rotating stars. First, we proved a turning point principle which states that the stability changes at the critical points of the total mass for a family of nonrotating stars parametrized by the center density. This is joint with Chongchun Zeng. Then we will discuss some recent results with Yucong Wang on the stability and instability of rotating stars with general angular velocity profiles.
